What a weekend!

Saturday
This has been an interesting weekend. First, a strange lady came to visit. Her name was Sandy. The girl let her into the house but didn't act like she knew her. She smelled like a bunch of other dogs, so that was pretty cool. I wanted to jump all over her and play with her, but BLU kept telling me something scary was going on. I think BLU is a little bit paranoid.

I'm not paranoid. I've just lived here longer. I think she is the new sitter, although I don't know what happened to Liz. I tried to warn Comet that meeting the new sitter means that the girl is going to be leaving again soon. He just doesn't have a clue sometimes.

At first I really thought BLU was nuts, but maybe she has a point. The girl started taking all sorts of clothes out of the closet. But instead of putting them into the black box, she put them in a black plastic bag. I never saw her put the going-away clothes in a bag before. I think I will need to be clingy for the rest of the weekend.

After the girl put the clothes in the bag, she put them in the car and then left. She didn't even give us a treat! Oh, wait, she came back a little while later. Maybe she isn't going to leave. Or maybe she's trying to be sneaky and hide the clothes in the car and then leave the next day. Something is wrong. Very wrong. And I don't like it a bit!

Sunday
I still don't trust the girl. She's trying to pretend like nothing is wrong. She got up this morning and put a bunch of clothes into the machine outside, then started doing yardwork. We have a tree that is really pokey in the yard. The branches are really low, and sometimes when we chase birds, we get scratched by the tree. Today the girl attacked the tree and got rid of all the low branches.

BLU was making me very nervous. While the girl was working on the tree, I was eating grass. I don't like when BLU is nervous; it makes my tummy hurt.

All of a sudden, the girl let out a loud scream. It was really scary. Comet ran in the house and puked up all the grass he was eating. The girl headed toward the house, hopping on one foot and crying. This was not good. After the girl got in the house, she sat down and pulled off her shoe.

This big thorn poked all the way through her shoe and into her foot. See what we mean by having pokey trees in the yard! I'm glad she decided to trim that tree. I would have hated to step on that thorn!

We did have a chance to join some of our friends for the DWB Wine, Cheese, and Chat Pawty! That was pretty fun. Comet didn't enjoy it. He's had an upset tummy most of the day and just wanted to cling to the girl. Even treats of ice cubes didn't perk him up too much.

Hopefully Monday will be better!

Shopping spree

We hope everyone is having a good weekend. We feel bad that we haven't been able to keep in contact with all of our friends. It's the mean girl's fault.

Ever since Comet's whirlwind of destruction in the girl's office, she has been locking that door when she goes to work. And she's been working a lot!!!! That means we can't sneak onto her computer to read all of our friends' blogs or to update ours unless she is home and opens that door. Even when she is home (not often) she hogs the computer. Needless to say, we are not happy.

To further add to our neglect, the girl went shopping. She bought a scary blue thing to hang in the back yard. I really don't understand what it is, but it scares me.

Sometimes the girl pulls off the blue thing, and then we see a bunch of purple strings. She crawls into the strings and falls asleep. Hello! She should be playing with us.
This is kind of what it looks like when the girl is wrapped up in the strings. But she is bigger and lumpier. Hehehehe. BLU and I play a fun game when the girl is wrapped up in the strings. We like to run back and forth underneath her. It's fun to bump into her and make her swing back and forth. I also like to poke my nose in and find out what she's doing. She's at the perfect height to give lots of kisses and licks.
Sometimes I pull the strings back to get a good look at her. Hey! This isn't her, it's a bunch of pillows! Next time I'll make sure it is her before I poke around.

At least the girl didn't forget us on her latest shopping spree. We are as addicted to Cuz as some of our other friends. A couple of weeks ago, she bought us the orange "good cuz" and the blue dinosaur cuz. Yesterday she brought home two more - the yellow football and the green cat.

So many choices, which to play with first? Should I grab the good cuz? Nah......
I want the football. It makes a much more obnoxious sound! I played with it for an hour last night. I don't know why the girl got angry - it was only at 3 am.

Enjoy your weekend.

Spring Sikh Parade

I was enjoying a nice lazy Sunday nap in the back yard. Then I heard thumping noises. Then they got louder and louder. It's another Sikh Parade. One goes past our house each fall and each spring. The spring one is for Baisakhi, the harvest festival of Punjab.
It's a good thing there is a cop leading this parade. Otherwise I would need to bark really loud to let the girl know that men with really big knives were walking down the middle of my road.
It was really hard to sleep and relax with all these people in front of my house. I thought we should stay inside and bark, but the girl went out and sat on the front porch. At least our pokey plants prevent anyone from getting too close.

Drat! The pokey plants didn't work. Once the people walked past them, they could come into my yard. A couple did. The girl didn't seem to mind. They gave her a bottle of water and a can of coke. Where are my biscuits? If I'm going to be woken up, I should at least get some yummy biscuits.

Happy Easter

The Easter Bunny missed our house today, so I had to take matters into my own hands!
I hope all our doggie friends have a very happy Easter.

Whine and biscuits

When my girl leaves for work each morning, she gives a biscuit to Comet and me. Sometimes I don't want to eat mine right away, so I refuse to take it. That lets the girl know to put my biscuit into my special biscuit toy.

I know how to get the biscuits out of this toy, but Comet doesn't. If the girl puts mine in the toy, then I don't have to spend all day guarding my biscuit. Yesterday, mine went in the toy.

I wanted to save mine until after the girl came home from work. It took her forever, she came home really late - after it was dark. When she got home, Comet and I were so excited to see her, we ran around like crazy and then jumped on her. My toy somehow got kicked outside the front door.

My girl didn't see that, and closed and locked the door for the night. I thought she would get it before she went to bed. She didn't. I kept whining at the front door, but she kept telling me to be quiet, and didn't even look outside. I really REALLY wanted my biscuit!

This morning when she got up, she saw it and laughed. I don't think it is funny at all!
Here I am pulling my biscuit out fo the toy for breakfast. The first step is to step on the toy to hold it in place.
The second step is to bite the biscuit into smaller pieces.
The final step is to pull the little pieces through the holes and enjoy!
