We found Narnia.....

Not the Chronicles of Narnia.

There is no lion, witch, or wardrobe in our back yard. Instead, we found a leaf-footed bug that is probably Narnia pallidicornis.

This bug is much cooler looking than the moldy white Cochineal scales !

Spring has sprung

Spring is finally here!

We think the girl got spring fever, because she isn't letting us visit our friends' blogs very often. She claims it is because she is working too much and her computer keeps overheating and turning off. She promises that we will have more time to visit again soon. Sure. Sure.
Look at all the pretty flowers in my back yard.
These yellow flowers are my favorite.
But these red ones are nice too. They are sweet and hummingbirds like them.
Our neighbor has some orange trees. Some of the branches hang over our fence.
The flowers make our yard smell really yummy. Even the prickly pear cactus is pretty in the spring.
The girl got rid of most of the gross white fuzzy bugs on the cactus, but now guess what we found?

Park it!

At obedience class tonight, we learned a command called "Park it". At first I thought I was going to get a car. Instead, it turns out that it is just a fancy way for my girl to say "time out". I have PLENTY of practice with that command!

Last week, at the end of the class, a man walked into Petsmart with a samoyed. My girl talked to him for a while and people kept asking if I was the samoyed's puppy! Do I look like a puppy?

Tonight when we went to class, I had to to make my usual rounds and pee on all the bushes in the parking lot. I kept lifting my leg and peeing and some guy came up and asked if I was a girl! I don't know what he's used to, but in my world, girls don't lift their legs to pee!

Then, when we were leaving, a group of 4 teenagers were walking past the store. They were dressed pretty tough (gansta clothing). One of them pointed at me and called me a chow. A CHOW?!?!?!?! He told his friends that I (the chow) was going to eat them. The girl decided to be naughty and told them that I was a pomeranian. One said they though a pomeranian is a little dog. She told them I used to be little until she started feeding teenagers to me. My girl can be so dumb sometimes.

Successful oPAWration

I stepped on a thorn today. It poked into my paw and I couldn't get it out all by myself.
The girl decided that she needed to oPAWrate on my foot. These are the scary tools she needed. I hope they are sterilized!
My girl was very brave.

She knows that I hate having my feet touched.

I HATE it!!

If somebody grabs my feet, I try to eat their fingers.

Notice how she is hiding her fingers so I can't eat them.

She was very fast and it hardly hurt at all when she pulled out the thorn. My foot felt so much better that I had to run around and check out my yard. I'm so glad I let her fix my foot and didn't eat my girl's fingers.

Hosed down

Look at me! Don't I look nice and white and fluffy? Then why should I have to take a bath? For some reason the girl decided that since the last bath I had was in February 2007, that I suddenly needed one. Hmmph!

I'm trying to get the girl wet too!

BLU wasn't lucky enough to escape either!
She couldn't run in the yard to hide.

We're still a bit damp, but we hope we are done for another year.

ps. The picture on our last post was from a rest stop along Interstate-40, about 20 miles west of Winslow AZ. Our girl had to go there for work on Saturday and we are glad she didn't take us, if that's where they make dogs walk.

It was a beautiful sunny warm weekend. I spent most of it napping in the warm sun in the backyard. Then the coolest thing happened. On Saturday, the girl bought furniture for the front porch. We actually got to hang out in the front yard and watch all sorts of people and dogs walk past our house (we had to stay on the leashes in the front). We even got to sniff Abby, who lives across the street.

Smelly feet

Felt balls

In case you were wondering, I ate the candy JellyBean and not the cat (although I think she would have been tasty too!

I was mostly good at training class on Wednesday. I let everyone in the store pet me, including little kids. I even sniffed and tried to play with a couple of dogs I never met before. The girl was happy that I was being so social, even though I wanted to play instead of learning my lessons.

As a treat, she bought me a felt ball. I'm not sure why BLU got one too. She didn't do anything! Here we are enjoying our balls.
For some reason, BLU can't just enjoy hers. She has to go in for the kill.
I don't like it one bit! Both of these balls should be mine and I don't want her to destroy MY toys!

Yummy Jelly Bean

JB the cat has paid us a few visits. For a cat, she's probably ok, if you can get past the fact that she's a CAT!!!

Playing with my ball

I went back to obedience school this week. I'm in the intermediate class now. Some of my friends from the last class returned, and I had fun greeting everyone. I actually wanted to play and didn't bark or growl at any dog. My girl was so proud of me.

This weekend was kind of boring. The girl's tummy was funny, so she wasn't much fun. I had to play with my new ball all by myself.
