Going, going, gone!

BLU needs to chill out. I don't know why she gets so worked up over the girl leaving. She left the packed bag sitting out all day while she was gone at work and BLU stressed out over it. Even I'm smart enough to know that the girl won't be gone as long as the bag is in sight. It's when the bag disappears that we have to worry! And when she puts out clean sheets and towels for Liz. Which she just did. Which means she is going to leave tomorrow. Oh well, Liz spoils us! I'll really try not to be naughty while the girl is on vacation.

Don't go!

I don't like it. I don't like it at all! My girl started putting her clothes into the big black bag this morning. A lot of clothes! I think she is going to leave again today. Maybe if I look really sad she will stay home with me and not go.

Why I never get stuffed toys

The girl is being really boring today. She's cleaning out her closets and won't let me help. I think I'm going to sit in the living room and mope until the girl gives me something fun to do.

Look what she found in the closet! I didn't know that was there! She never gives me stuffed toys.

Wow! This is really fun to chew.

I pulled a bunch of stuffing out, and there is more. I wonder how big of a stuffing pile I can make.

This is so cool! You can pull the guts right out of the whale! And it just keeps coming and coming.

Ick. Now it's stuck on my tongue. I think I've had enough.

What else is in the closet for me to chew?

Secret visits by Abby

We've been keeping a secret from our girl. During the day while she is at work, Abby from across the road comes over to see us. She runs out her front door, across the road, and straight to the porch. We can wag our tails at each other and rub noses through the glass for a couple of minutes before her person comes over to take her home. It's pretty cool.

Last night, Abby goofed and our secret is now out. Our girl was at home reading a book when we heard Abby knocking her tail against the door. Comet tried to pretend that he was guarding the house and barked like crazy. The girl tossed Comet in his crate, then opened the door to check Abby's tags. I got to rub noses with her. Just then, Abby's person came over and told our girl that Abby visits all the time! The girl opened the door to let Abby and her person in but they each just poked their heads in. If Comet wasn't such a noisy boy, maybe they would have stayed longer.

Time Out!

Now I know why my girl writes "No Gifts" on invitations when she throws herself a birthday party. She really doesn't like gifts! Comet and I wanted to do something special for her today, so we caught a nice big juicy pigeon for her. Comet wanted to bring it into the house, but I reminded him that our girl doesn't like presents brought into the house. Instead, we put it on the back porch for her. That way she wouldn't miss it! It really hurt my feelings that she didn't like it. :-(

Talk about not liking it. As soon as she saw it, I got excited. I thought I was going to get a biscuit - or maybe a greenie as a thank you for my thoughtfulness. Not only did she scream EEEEWWW!, but then she put me in "time out" and threw it away. The least she could do is give it back to me to play with!

Tackled!!

The girl came home last night! BLU and I jumped up and tackled her! I was so happy to see her again!

She brought us a treat! A hamburger and onion rings. Yum! Yum! Yum!
At first she wasn't going to share. She started to eat the hamburger all by herself. She must be really tired and forgot to share, so I jumped up to steal an onion ring off her plate.

YIKES! I don't think that was a good idea. She yelled no, then reached over and grabbed me. I tried to swallow the onion ring (destroy the evidence) but she tackled me, pried open my mouth, and stuck her hand in my mouth and grabbed the onion ring back out. No Way! That's not fair! She was supposed to share!

I sat. I tried to shake. I barked. I jumped. I laid down. I did all the tricks I knew how to do to get that onion ring back. She wouldn't give it to me. She gave it to BLU instead. Not fair! Not fair at all! Then she gave me the really mean look that scares me. I laid down.

I waited for her to share her food, but she didn't :-(
She kept giving BLU tiny pieces of the hamburger though. It totally wasn't fair!
Finally, she gave me the last little bit of the hamburger. I guess next time I won't be so grabby. Maybe I'll get more that way.

Feeling better - sort of...

My tummy was still a little bit upset when my girl left for work today, and I still wasn't very hungry. By the time she got home, I was feeling much better. I ate a half a bowl of food for dinner, and begged for a couple of pieces of cheese and turkey. The girl gave them to me. Yummy! Maybe I should get sick more often.

After dinner, I chased Comet around for a while, and my girl gave me all sorts of snuggles. But now my tummy hurts again - but not because I am sick. Because I am nervous and sad. The girl went to the closet and pulled out one of the black boxes she fills with clothes before leaving. It's her smallest one, so maybe she will only be gone one night. I hope so. I miss her when she leaves. I guess that means that Liz will come and visit.

Tummy Ache :-(

I woke up this morning and didn't feel good. I have a tummy ache. I ate a couple of bites of food, but I'm not very hungry and it didn't sit very well. I didn't throw it up, but my tummy hurts. I spent most of the day sleeping because I just don't feel very well. The girl wanted to inspect me to see what was wrong, but when I don't feel good, I don't like to be touched. I tried to hide outside. She didn't let me.

She picked me up and put me on the bed. At least she had the decency to close the door and keep Comet out of the room so he didn't bother me. After I was on the bed, she examined me, but didn't find anything that concerned her. Then she laid down next to me and gently pet me while I tried to sleep. Hopefully tomorrow I will feel better.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLU is no fun! I kept trying to play with her, but she would either walk away or growl at me. She said she isn't feeling well, but that's no excuse. I want to play! After BLU growled at me a couple of times, I made one last attempt to play with her and ran up and jumped on her. She turned around really fast and bit me on the nose. YIPE!!!!!! I guess I will have to play with the girl instead.
Up all night
Woo Hoo! I got to meet a bunch of new people this morning! When the girl finally came home, she brought friends with her. Four of them! I was stuck on my leash so I had to behave, but the girl actually let me meet people rather than locking me in my crate or in the back yard. It was fun getting all sorts of attention from new people.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yesterday, our girl came home from work at her normal time, and played with us for a while. Then she ran around cleaning up the house and putting all of our toys away. That's not fair. Do you know how long it took to make sure that I had a toy within reach of me no matter where I was in the house? She even pulled out the scary vacuum cleaner.

After the house was clean and we ate dinner, she moved our water bowl outside. That's not a good sign! It means we are going to get tossed out into the backyard. Sure enough, she locked us outside, and then we heard a bunch of other girls come into the house. They were talking, and laughing, and playing loud music for a long time. After what seemed like forever, I heard the other girls go out in the front yard, and my girl came to let us back in the house.

I thought we were going to get to play, or get some party leftovers to eat, but everything was cleaned up. Our girl gave us each a biscuit and then left!

It was a really long time before she came back. It was almost light outside. She came into the house and put Comet's leash on him, then let the other girls in. That was cool! They were all giggling, but they kept hugging and kissing me and telling me how cute I was. All of them were dressed in black, so I felt like I matched them. I think they should have taken me out to the club with them.

Neglected!

I'm neglected! I nearly starved to death yesterday and the girl didn't even notice. She fed us crumbs for breakfast and then forgot to give us dinner until almost midnight! I practically had to drag her to the food to get her to feed me!
Comet

Don't be such a drama queen! Our girl gave us plenty of breakfast - even though it did have a lot of crumbs and was pretty stale. She had to work really long hours again yesterday and didn't get home until way after it was dark outside. I was getting a big hungry too, but there was still a little bit of food in our bowls. I just didn't want to eat it because it was old and stale, and there was a great big bag of new food sitting around, just waiting to be open and eaten. I was saving room for the new food. You could have eaten the last of the old food.

Plus, once she did get home, she brought people food in with her. It smelled really good, and she kept giving us little tastes of it. Something she doesn't always do! So, even though she didn't open the new bag of food until midnight to feed us, we sure didn't starve to death!

Thunder and Lightning

Last night was the third night in a row that there was a lot of wind, thunder, lightning, and rain. I don't usually mind the wind and thunder, but I hate the rain. I don't like to get wet at all! Well, sometimes I like to soak my feet in the water bowl after a long walk, but other than that, no water!

The thunder and lightning were really scary! I was afraid to look at the sky tonight, because it was wet outside. This is what lightning in Phoenix looks like during the summer.

My girl didn't seem bothered by these noises. She just sat on the couch reading. I usually don't go on the couch at the same time my girl is there (especially after she used me as her pillow) but this time I hopped up on the couch and climbed in her lap. I felt safe there. Even Comet didn't like those noises. He ran and hid in the crate. BLU

Haiku

On my welcome mat
Sits a big tan cat. Go Away!
It is not for you.

I can't sleep at all.
Bark! Bark! Protect my front porch.
Scat! You fat tan cat.

The Evil Brush Must DIE!

There it was.
Just sitting on the table.
Teasing me.
Mocking me.
Waiting to rip my hair out.

I wasn't going to let it win again.
I couldn't.
I wouldn't.

As soon as the girl went to take a shower I pounced!
It bit back a couple times, but I won.

I killed the evil brush!!!
Comet

I can't say that I disagree with what Comet did. I don't like the brush either. Most of the time it doesn't really bother me, and sometimes I actually enjoy it (especially when Comet gets mad because I'm getting all the attention) but the brush had to die. Some days our girl pins me down and holds me until she gets my belly brushed. I don't like that. Sometimes the brush pulls my hair and it hurts. But one thing I know for sure - the girl is going to be mad that Comet killed it - and I don't want to be around when she finds out.

I'm outta here!
