Spring Sikh Parade

I was enjoying a nice lazy Sunday nap in the back yard. Then I heard thumping noises. Then they got louder and louder. It's another Sikh Parade. One goes past our house each fall and each spring. The spring one is for Baisakhi, the harvest festival of Punjab.
It's a good thing there is a cop leading this parade. Otherwise I would need to bark really loud to let the girl know that men with really big knives were walking down the middle of my road.
It was really hard to sleep and relax with all these people in front of my house. I thought we should stay inside and bark, but the girl went out and sat on the front porch. At least our pokey plants prevent anyone from getting too close.

Drat! The pokey plants didn't work. Once the people walked past them, they could come into my yard. A couple did. The girl didn't seem to mind. They gave her a bottle of water and a can of coke. Where are my biscuits? If I'm going to be woken up, I should at least get some yummy biscuits.

Comet, Dear,

Sikhs are known to be very generous, especially with food. I'm sure if you had made your wishes known, they would have given you lots of yummy biscuits.

Moral: If you want something, you have to speak (bark) up!

Maybe you can send them my way next time .. I'll let them in my yard for a biscuit or two.
